Infertility is the inability of an adult mature to give birth to offspring. Human infertility. It is estimated that on average 10% of all marriages are infertile. Infertile marriage is one in which a woman does not become pregnant after three years of married life without the use of protective measures. Infertility can be a consequence of pathological processes in both men (about 30%) and women (about 30%). A man may not be able to conceive even if he is able to have sex. Male infertility can be caused by a defect in the development of the genitals (hypospadia and epispadias), aspermia, azoospermia, testicular tumors, chronic poisoning; alcohol and nicotine abuse have a particularly negative effect on the male genitalia.

Female infertility is divided into primary infertility (when a woman has not had a single pregnancy) and secondary (occurring after previous births or abortions). Infertility can be absolute, when for various reasons pregnancy is not possible at all (no uterus, or it is underdeveloped, there are no defects in the development of the ovaries, genitals, etc.), and relative, when for some reason pregnancy is impossible but may be possible after these. elimination of causes. The causes of infertility in women are varied. One of the more common causes is infertility in the fallopian tubes due to the obstruction of the fallopian tubes, which prevents men (sperm) from meeting with female cells (eggs) and, of course, fertilization. Tubal infertility can result from gonorrhea, septic infection (after abortion), genital tuberculosis, and so on.

A prerequisite for fertilization is:
ovulation and removal of the fallopian tube (ovulation). This process can be disrupted by pathological changes in a woman’s body; various changes in the central nervous system (hypothalamus) and endocrine glands (pituitary, adrenal, thyroid). These can lead to the end or delay of your period (amenorrhea) or various disorders. Sometimes infertility depends on diseases of the uterus and her neck.

Infertility treatment. In women with infertility due to inflammatory processes, physiotherapy and spa treatment, in case of endocrine diseases – hormone therapy. Surgical methods for the removal of fallopian tubes are being improved.

Treatment of male infertility – elimination of the cause; general strengthening treatment, abstinence from nicotine and alcohol.

The method of hirudotherapy is not as simple to use as it seems at first glance. Only a highly qualified specialist may work with leeches. Self-medication is not allowed, as incorrect selection of leeches can lead to a wide range of complications. The leeches are used once as a syringe and are destroyed.
